DR. JIM GOLDEN    Jim Golden is a Partner at Accenture. He works within the Accenture Analytics and Marketing Services growth platform leading the Global Life Science Analytics Practice and supporting the Global Healthcare Data Analytics Group. His work focuses on the development of data analytics strategy, platforms, offerings and solutions for Accenture’s pharmaceutical, payer, provider and government clients. His most recent work focuses on the areas of Comparative Effectiveness Research (CER) and realizing the utility of real-world clinical evidence for driving drug discovery and commercialization. Dr. Golden is also an angel investor focused on biotechnology and healthcare IT startup companies in New York and Boston.



DR. JAN BERGER    Jan founded Health Intelligence Partners in 2008 as a health care consultancy that blends twenty-five years of business and clinical experience. Health Intelligence Partners focuses on healthcare business strategies and solutions in order to maximize client outcomes. As former Senior Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer for CVS Caremark (1999-2008), Jan was a member of the executive team for the organization. Over a ten-year period this team led the organization through three mergers and acquisitions, which resulted in an $80 billion dollar, Fortune 20 healthcare organization with more than 190,000 employees throughout the United States. She was responsible for policy and strategy for all clinical aspects of the organization. Prior to coming to CVS Caremark, Jan had 15 years experience in healthcare administration within the health plan and academic arenas. Dr. Berger holds both a Doctor of Medicine degree and a Masters degree in Jurisprudence from Loyola University in Chicago and a Certificate in Healthcare Business Administration from University of South Florida. She is also an assistant professor at Northwestern University School of Medicine in Evanston, Illinois.



David A. Smith    Most recently, David Smith served as Chairman of Florida TaxWatch, Inc., a bipartisan government and business task force. In his role, Smith has focused his attention on helping the State of Florida through its economic challenges in the global recession. Prior to this, Smith spent 10 years as Chairman, President and CEO of PSS World Medical, Inc. (PSSI), a medical distributor with over $2 billion in revenue serving physicians, nursing homes and home care providers. During his tenure at PSSI, Smith successfully led the organization through a dynamic shift in business strategies, essentially creating a comprehensive turnaround, business model innovation, global sourcing expansion, and the launch of industry-leading brands. Smith started his career with Price Waterhouse Coopers as well as a regional firm. As CFO, Smith led the industry-changing $100 million strategic partnership with Abbott Laboratory and the development of the company’s ERP systems and shared service operations. Prior to CFO, he held various operations and sales roles where he led the green fielding of a dozen distribution and sales centers as well as innovated and tested, “same day service,” which PSSI adopted as its service brand to expand its business nationally. Smith has received numerous awards, including “E&Y Florida Entrepreneur of the Year” and “National Finalist.” Forbes twice named him “CEO to Watch” and under his leadership, PSSI was named “Most Trustworthy Company.” Smith graduated from the University of North Florida earning a degree in Business Administration. He serves on several industry and community boards, with a presence across national, state and local communities. In his free time, Smith enjoys traveling with his family, golf and boating.
